Description
Juicy meatballs simmered in bourbon BBQ sauce, topped with melted cheddar and crispy bacon, piled into toasted sub rolls.
Ingredients

- 1 lb ground beef (80/20 lean-to-fat ratio)
- 1 cup breadcrumbs
- 1 egg
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1 tsp onion powder
- 1 tsp smoked paprika
- ½ tsp salt
- ¼ tsp black pepper
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- 1 cup bourbon BBQ sauce
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 4 sub rolls
- 8 slices crispy bacon
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Mix meatball ingredients and form into 1.5-inch balls.
- Brown meatballs in olive oil (5-7 mins). Simmer in BBQ sauce for 10 mins.
- Toast sub rolls for 5 mins. Assemble with meatballs, cheese, and bacon.
- Return to oven for 2-3 mins to melt cheese. Serve hot!
Notes
For extra sauciness, double the BBQ sauce.
