Description

A creamy honey-infused custard pie with a flaky crust and a touch of sea salt for the perfect sweet-and-salty dessert.


Ingredients

  • 1 pie crust (refrigerated or homemade)
  • 4 large egg yolks, lightly beaten
  • 2 1/2 cups (600 ml) heavy whipping cream
  • 2/3 cup (150 g) packed light brown sugar
  • 1/3 cup (45 g) cornstarch, sifted
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/2 cup (120 ml) honey
  • 2 tsp vanilla extract
  • Flaky sea salt, for sprinkling

Instructions

  1. Prepare and chill the pie crust.
  2. Heat cream, sugar, cornstarch, and salt until thickened.
  3. Temper egg yolks with the hot cream mixture.
  4. Combine everything, then stir in honey and vanilla.
  5. Pour into crust and bake at 375°F (190°C) for 40-45 minutes.
  6. Cool, refrigerate, and sprinkle with sea salt before serving.

Notes

For best results, use high-quality honey and chill the pie thoroughly before serving.
