- 1 lb button or cremini mushrooms, sliced
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- ½ cup cornmeal (optional)
- 2 large eggs
- ¼ cup milk
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1 tsp paprika
- ½ tsp salt
- ½ tsp black pepper
- Vegetable oil, for frying
- ½ cup mayonnaise
- ½ cup sour cream
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1 tsp onion powder
- 1 tsp dried dill
- 1 tsp parsley
- ¼ tsp salt
- ¼ tsp black pepper
- 1–2 tbsp milk (for ranch)
Instructions
- Whisk ranch ingredients together, then refrigerate.
- Mix flour, cornmeal, and spices in one bowl; whisk eggs and milk in another.
- Coat mushrooms in egg, then flour mixture. Let rest 5 minutes.
- Fry in 350°F oil for 2-3 minutes until golden. Drain on paper towels.
- Serve with chilled ranch dressing.
Notes
For extra crispiness, let coated mushrooms rest before frying.
