An easy, flavorful, and authentic-tasting Chicken Shawarma recipe with a creamy garlic sauce, perfect for a weeknight dinner or a festive gathering.


Ingredients

  • 1.5 lbs of boneless chicken thighs or breasts, cut into strips
  • 2 tablespoons of olive oil
  • 2 teaspoons of ground cumin
  • 1 teaspoon of ground paprika
  • 1 teaspoon of ground turmeric
  • 1 teaspoon of ground coriander
  • 1 teaspoon of ground cinnamon
  • 2 cloves of garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon of lemon juice
  • Salt and black pepper to taste
  • 1 cup of mayonnaise
  • 2 tablespoons of minced garlic
  • 1 tablespoon of lemon juice
  • Salt to taste

Instructions

  1. Combine marinade ingredients in a bowl, add chicken, and marinate for 30+ minutes.
  2. Preheat grill or pan over medium-high heat.
  3. Cook chicken for 5-7 minutes per side until cooked through.
  4. Whisk all garlic sauce ingredients together in a small bowl.
  5. Let chicken rest, then slice and serve with pita, veggies, and garlic sauce.
